SKIA Tasmania is proud to host the 2011 SKIA National Seminar and Championships for the first time. Our special guest instructors are Kancho Kanazawa 10th Dan and Chief Instructor of Shotokan Karate International Federation and Sensei Nobuaki Kanazawa, 6th Dan, former SKIF World Kumite Champion. Kancho Kanazawa is a master of budo and karate pioneer whose dedication and innovation brought forth many advancements to the art of Shotokan karate and karate in general. Sensei Nobuaki is a multiple All Japan and World Champion, and is currently the head coach of the Japan SKIF Team. Do not miss out on this opportunity to experience all that Kancho and Nobuaki Sensei have to offer.
The seminar and tournament will be held at the Hobart City Hall, 57 - 63 Macquarie Street, Hobart. Select seminar training sessions will also be held at the Hellenic Hall, 69 Federal Street, Hobart.
- Training for the National Squad will precede the National Seminar on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September 2011 at the Hellenic Hall.
- The Shotokan Week National Seminar will be held between Monday 26 and Thursday 29 September at the City Hall and the Hellenic Hall.
- Dan Gradings will be held on Friday 30 September at the Hellenic Hall.
- The National Championships will be held on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 October at the City Hall.
